1. Hang out on the Beach

Bali has some amazing beaches, and whether you’re looking to catch a few waves on a surfboard, sip a drink at a tiki bar, or explore a remote hidden beach, Bali has you covered. Be sure to visit Kelingking beach at sunset, or to avoid the crowds get there for an early sunrise. If surfing is what you’re looking for, then ride the waves with the pros at Padang Padang. 2. Snorkel!

Bali has great snorkeling and it’s not hard to find a local outfitter to get you set up with gear and take you out for the morning. Be sure to research companies beforehand though- Many companies operate below traditional safety standards and can put you in a sketchy situation quickly if you’re not careful.
Many companies will take you to multiple locations to see different wildlife. If there’s something specific you would like to see, make sure to clarify before booking your trip. Some companies may be better equipped to help you get the most out of your experience.
3. Find a Waterfall (or 10)

Bali and the surrounding islands have some amazing waterfalls so be sure to check them out. Nungnung Waterfall is breathtaking and after the hike there, standing under the crashing water is as refreshing as you could hope for. Make sure to bring your swimsuit!
4. Visit a Rice Terrace and Coffee Plantation

Rice terraces and coffee plantations are found in plenty throughout Bali, and can offer a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of the cities. Ubud offers a great combo of relaxing spas and lodging surrounded by rice fields and plantations, and the vibrant colors are sure to brighten your day. Go early in the morning for a relaxing and peaceful walk without the crowds.

5. Rent a Scooter

If you aren’t comfortable riding a scooter, chances are you’ll get real comfortable real quick if you travel to Bali, or anywhere else in SE Asia. Scooters are the main form of transportation around the islands and can be a ton of fun. Scooter rentals start out at around 70,000 IDR/day (around $5) and can be rented in almost any city.
Practice riding on quiet streets before attempting commuting through the big cities- traffic can get very wild very fast!
6. Get a Massage

There are massage parlors on (sometimes literally) every street corner in the cities and after riding on your scooter all day nothing feels better than a relaxing massage. Make sure to read reviews before entering a spa to make sure that the massage parlor is a legitimate business.
Spa options range from simple massages to full spa packages at private resorts. Jungle Fish in Ubud is a beautiful resort with a spa and restaurant if you don’t mind paying little more money.
7.Go Shopping

There is some very good shopping in Denpensar. Here you can find fake designer sunglasses, fake designer bags, and fake whatever designer anything you have your heart set on. Keep an eye out for ‘genuine fakes’ which convey a higher standard of quality. Don’t be afraid to bargain- it’s expected. A good rule of thumb is to immediately offer half the asking price and work from there. The only time this doesn’t apply is if the store is marked as ‘fixed price’. These stores cater to tourists who don’t like haggling and if you try you will just be met with annoyance. Make sure to visit multiple shops to find the items you want- there is extreme variance in quality even for the same branded products.
Many markets have fun street art and live music. Explore around a bit and find a market that caters to your style and needs.

8. Check out the Night Life

Bali and the surrounding islands have lots of fun restaurants and night life to explore. Beach clubs are common and keep a lookout for special happy hours and live music. There are so many restaurants and clubs that if you ask around you’re almost guaranteed to find a special event going on. Some of the nicer clubs and restaurants have a minimum spending amount to discourage people from taking up table space and enjoying the club without paying for anything. Make sure to take a look at the menu before finding a table. Bali is generally considered safe, but just like anywhere it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings.
9. Find a Monkey

There are multiple areas on the islands with monkeys, and they’re really not as much of a novelty once you see hundreds of them running around everywhere; but nonetheless it’s fun to watch them scurry around and climb through the trees or rummage through tourists’ purses. While they look and act cute a majority of the time, be careful because they can turn aggressive very fast.

It’s very touristy, but a great spot to hang out with the monkeys is the Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud.

10. Enjoy the Food!
One of the great things about Bali is the huge variety of food options. Enjoy amazing avocado toast, fresh sushi, many different local rice dishes, or just sit on the beach and enjoy a classic cocktail.

Try to find a quiet breakfast place where you can watch the sunrise on the beach. It’s a great peaceful way to start your day and often you can watch the locals surfing on the morning waves.
